Tickets for the Captains Dinner + Dance Night are still available in the Club Bar or from any Club Committee member at €60 each. The venue for this year’s event will be in the Radisson Hotel in Farnham. The Mens Club A.G.M. will be on Monday 3rd November.
A Newsletter and Meeting Agenda has been forwarded to all members.
The Annual awards night will take place on Saturday November the 1st. Invitations will be sent to all competition winners etc. This is usually a fantastic occasion and all members are welcome on the night.

Wednesday 22nd October : Ladies18 hole Singles stableford.
Thursday 23rd October : Open 18 Hole singles stableford.

Co Cavan Golf Club Report 14th October
The winter weather once again had the last say as the Thursday competition was cancelled and the weekend competition reduced to 9 Holes.
The Race night last Friday in the Club House organised by the Jimmy Bruen team raised in excess of €4500. The money has been used as a contribution towards the recent All-Ireland series contested by the team in Monkstown Golf Club, Co Cork, and with a considerable percentage donated to the Club. Thank you to all the sponsors and participants and to the effort by the Team.

COURSE
We hope members’ are becoming familiar with monthly course reports which have been posted on the notice-board. This provides a summary of the work done within the course management plan for the previous month and an outline of the programme for the coming month.
GREENS
Greens have recently been pencil-tined, top-dressed and are in good condition. It is intended that the greens will be either dew–brushed or cut on Sat & Sun mornings in addition to normal weekday programme.
ROUGH
It is intended to cut back the length of grass in the rough for winter months. This will be done over coming weeks.
TEES & PINS
A plan to rotate the tee markers and pins in a structured way has been put in place.
DISTANCE MARKERS
Members will notice that the white stakes have been replaced by yellow disks in the fairways at 150m in addition to blue disks at 200m on holes where this applies.

Race Night / Captains Dinner
RACE NIGHT SPECIAL on this Friday at 8:30pm in the Club House.
There will be 8 Races plus an Auction Race on the Night. Your can look forward to Hot Refreshments and plenty of craic on the night. ALL WELCOME.

Alliance Cup Winners 08
Congratulations to Co Cavan Golf Club for winning the Cavan/Monaghan Alliance Cup in Crover Hotel Golf and Country Club on Saturday 4th October.
On a wet and Windy day played on a course in excellent condition along the banks of Lough Sheelin, this was a perfect setting for ending the Inter Club Golf season for 2008.
The victorious team was, in order of play,
